I guess Johnny didn't do a lot of traveling in China. I've also got him beat on Chicago suburbs.
Still thinking about the implications of the change in agricultural land policy. The absence of mechanized agriculture and the integration of farming small plots of rice or wheat into family life were noted often on the trip. Also the images from the north of people using yak and humans to farm. Tipping a first major domino of change to allow aggregation of farmland would/will, I think,rapidly, rapidly cascade through rural China. Positive and negative....what we gain and what we lose in the name of progress.
